The CRECOI has identified 3 Research Priority areas and the following outlines some of current work.

1.Clinical quality registries

  • Re-examining the door-to-balloon time-outcome relationship: an instrumental variable approach
  • Sex differences in presentation, procedures, complications, and outcomes of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
  • Sex differences in presentation, procedures, complications, and outcomes of patients undergoing CABG, valve replacement, and other cardiac surgery
  • The relationship between the EQ-5D and interventional outcomes in a large Australian registry of percutaneous intervention patients
  • Patterns of multi-morbid conditions among CHD patients treated with PCI in predicting 30 day MACE and length of hospital stay
  • 30 day mortality and morbidity for mitral valve surgery in over 70 years and over 80 years and high risk patient groups.
